CASTING IN THE PARK

Chico Area Flyfishers provides free fly casting lessons to the public.

When:

Every 3rd Sunday of the Month, noon to 3 pm

Where:

Sycamore Field (Between Caper Acres and One-Mile Pool) in Bidwell Park.

Details

No previous casting experience is needed and you do not have to sign before hand up to reserve a spot.

We have loaner rods and reels, but feel free to bring your own equipment. If you do bring your own equipment, we recommend 5 to 7wt fly rods with a weight forward, floating line and a 7.5 foot 0x tapered leader. We have yarn for you to tie on.

We use the fly casting curriculum and teaching pedagogy from Fly Fishing International (FFI) and offer instruction and certification opportunities to earn their Bronze, Silver, or Gold FFI casting status.
